On Monday August 12th, coaches and parents of the Stembridge Colts Football Program attended the first of two Football First Aid sessions hosted by Chesapeake AED Services. Attendees learned about essential topics of basic first aid, highlighting football oriented injuries such as concussions & head injury, sprains, spine & neck injury, hot & cold emergencies, and Hands Only CPR Training. Stembridge Rec Council of Essex, MD has a goal to have 5 parents and 2 coaches from each age group to attend these sessions and learn what to look for if a player gets hurt, as well as the action steps to take. Chesapeake AED Services will hold a second session later in the month at their training center located at 810 Back River Neck Road in Essex, MD.
