Local EMT Recognized for 30 Years of Service
Mike Marsiglia, president and owner of Chesapeake AED Services was recently recognized by the Board of Directors of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for achieving 30 consecutive years as a Nationally Registered EMT. This distinction is an honor held by few EMTs.
To maintain his status as a Nationally Registered EMT, Mike completed, on a biennial basis, the most comprehensive recertification program for Emergency Medical Technicians in America. He not only completed courses to refresh his fundamental knowledge and skills but also attended a minimum of two hours per month of additional continuing education courses to advance his knowledge on new lifesaving skills.
By maintaining his Nationally Registered status and completing regular continuing education courses, Mike Marsiglia is among the few elite EMTs with the most training in pre-hospital emergency medical care in the nation.
Mike was Nationally Registered as an EMT-A in 1979. Prior to starting Chesapeake AED Services in 2003, Mike worked for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department for 25 years.
The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians serves as the national EMS certification organization by providing a valid, uniform process to assess the knowledge and skills required for competent practice by EMS professionals throughout their careers and by maintaining a registry of certification status.
